Hampton by Hilton Exeter Airport
Our Hampton by Hilton Exeter Airport hotel has been selected to retrofit the brand new Hampton by Hilton bedroom prototype – the first of its kind for the original UK Hampton by Hilton hotels. We are working closely with Hilton and our own design team on the new rooms and we’re currently awaiting approval on the rollout, which will take place in the coming months and years following refurbishment cycles. As well as a brand new room design, we’re also happy to announce that the hotel has unveiled a refreshed gym.
The Exeter site is also undergoing £3m local infrastructure improvements, which include a new road and bus route to the hotel, Exeter airport, and local train stations. The Pinhoe Station Interchange is one of the new routes, which is now open and has been designed to offer sustainable travel options to commuters, making it easier to access Pinhoe station, Exeter airport, and local points of interest like the Exeter Science Park. The interchange features parking spaces, bike lockers, a taxi rank and a shuttle service to Exeter airport. The new transport links and upgraded road to the hotel will bring forward new employment and development land around the hotel, including a 20-acre business park, which will begin construction in early 2023.
The local area is also seeing exciting upgrades with the announcement of new biodiverse homes being built close to our hotel as part of the new local development plan. East Devon District Council is currently discussing the potential of a new town, which is planned to include 8,000 new sustainable properties and amenities. This is an exciting improvement that aligns with our hotel’s action plan towards a greener future, which will soon include the latest solar technology on the roof of the hotel to help significantly reduce carbon emissions. Director of Propiteer Hotels Richard Martin comments: “We’re very excited that the local area is making such exciting changes – changes which complement our sustainability plan for the hotel. It’ll be great to introduce more employment opportunities in the area and convenient links in and out of our hotel.”
Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough City Centre
Our hotel sponsored the 2022 Opportunity Peterborough Bondholder Dinner, which was hosted in Peterborough Cathedral. This event hosts over 400 delegates for a black-tie evening of first-rate networking.
In other news, we have also partnered with the new ARU Peterborough, which opened in September 2022. We have met with the team and have agreed to work together on a number of levels, including offering employment to the students at our hotels as a way of exploring working with local groups and the city more widely. We will also look to support relevant leisure and tourism courses run at the university.
